Wood Inspection Services, Inc
INFRARED SURVEY TECHNIQUE PROVIDES "NEW WAVE" TECHNOLOGY
FOR COMMERCIAL PROPERTY PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
Dallas , TX ... Stanley Wood, owner and operator of Wood Inspection Services, Inc. in Dallas announced that recent surveys by major maintenance trade publications reported a $5 return on investment for every $1 spent on infrared inspections. " The Infrared thermal imaging inspections offers our customers heat sensitive photos to identify potentially serious problems the typical visual inspection cannot" according to Wood.
This state-of-the-art Infrared inspection method is utilized to detect mechanical, electrical, rooftop and moisture problems before they cause a shutdown of business operations or major repair and replacement costs.
Thermography is the use of an infrared imaging and measurement camera to see and measure thermal energy emitted from an object. The higher the object's temperature, the greater the IR radiation emitted. Infrared images allow us to see what our eyes cannot. Infrared cameras produce images of invisible thermal or "heat" radiation and provide precise non-contact temperature measurement
capabilities. "Nearly everything electrical gets hot before it fails, making infrared cameras extremely cost-effective and valuable diagnostic tools in many diverse applications" said Wood. As industries strive to improve manufacturing efficiencies, manage energy, improving product quality, and enhance worker safety, new applications for infrared cameras continually emerge. "Whether its mechanical, electrical or moisture issues, these pictures are truly worth a thousand words and thousands of dollars to the property owners" continued Wood.
Only a few companies provide these services today due to the high cost of this specialized equipment and the training and experience required to conduct the surveys and generate the needed reports.
As the high cost of building repairs and upkeep continue to grow, the importance of preventative maintenance and regular inspections using the infrared imaging technology will play a larger role in safety and cost containment for the commercial real estate market. |
